NHMS track walk photos

Post by jeffw » Sat May 29, 2010 10:51 pm

I had the opportunity to go on track during lunch at BMW's HDPE last week. I took a bunch of photos and thought they might be useful, especially with the changes at turn 6.

I think the changes are to try to get the AMA to return. They all seem geared towards motorcycles.

Thank Jeff!
Sent you a message but I did manage to dowload some of these for tomorrows classroom.

QUESTION: THIS CALLS FOR ALL CLASSES TO SET NEW TRACK RECORD because of change in track configuration? I think so.

I don't think so, but we can make that call on Monday afternoon.
The only change to the pavement is the added bit on the track out of 6, which is unusable because it falls off. Using that part of the track will only slow you down.

It's useable. Just be ready to make a slight steering adjustment when coming back over the small crest. I'm not saying it's faster, but you can use the extra pavement at trackout of T6.

Has COM ever done a track walk?

Definitely an interesting perspective (at least for me) for some of the turns.
