I don't think you have to worry about high speeds at NHMS. I run magnetic numbers and only lost them during a 3g slap at the Armco at Mont-Tremblant.

I picked up someone's magnetic number in the middle of the back straight at Tremblant once during a track walk. They do sometimes come off at speed, even without a tank slapper. Taping the front edge helps.

Of course Dave, you saw the humor - Speed at NHMS??
