Has the format for July NHMS been set? What day(s) are the Time Trial?

After 3 months of discussion and bouncing around different ideas at the board meetings, this is what the decision was. Friday school day, Saturday TT day, and Sunday open track all day for licenced and solo.

To elaborate, Day 3 is an open track day for licensed members and all students who get an "Okay to Solo" from their instructor on Day 1.

Registration opens tomorrow. You may choose:

Day 1__
Day 2__
Day 3__

Students must register for Day 1 and may also register for Day 2 and/or Day 3. Licensed members (which includes instructors) can choose any combination of days. Registration fees are reduced $25 for attending a 2nd day and $100 for attending all 3 days:

1 day: $225
2 days: $425
3 days: 575

Instructors who do not instruct on Friday pay the same as other licensed members; instructors who DO instruct pay the Time Trial fee for Day 2 and the open track fee for Day 3.

Frequent Driver Points (20 points per day) will be awarded to all paying attendees.

So day three will be an open track day,all day, with no run groups?

That will be at Wills discretion. If there are a lot of cars he may have to start the day with a couple of run groups then loosen up as the day goes on and the crowd thins (or tires) out.

I'm really hoping to do all three days. Been a long time since I've done a COM event. Car is almost ready, hopefully the OT at work will help with the cash flow!

Is there anyone else that I need to talk to about this event besides the Chief Instructor, who doesn't reply to emails?

I have wifey approval to come to NHMS for Fri and Sat (if instructing) only OR Sunday (one day).

I was solo'd and licensed last year by COM and I'm an active instructor with BMW & Audi Clubs.

Thanks
Matt

well you need to register and pay for the event - not quite sure what you mean by 'talk to'...

Matt, if you're looking to become a COM instructor, you'll definitely have to talk to Will Martins, our Chief Instructor. It's his job to determine whether you're qualified. The cut-off date for the July NHIS event is coming up this week, so you'd better get this resolved (one way or the other) right away.

Thanks rnoonan

I emailed Will a few days ago, so I'm just waiting for a reply. I was just hoping I'd find him on here sooner.

Maybe you can answer this question.
As a licensed and member in good standing, am I allowed to just run on the open track day? even though I wasn't at the previous two days (with instruction)? I'm just trying to figure out the clubs policies. I've been tracking for years, I'm just new to this club.

I guess if Will doesn't get back to me, there's always $100/open track days at NHMS to tide me over until the next event.

thanks
Matt

If you have a COM license you are clear to go solo on all days. Sunday is an open track day and. Go to the main COM site and see "registration" info for this event.
In the registeration site for the July event you will find these following choices:
Registration Fees
Attend Day 1
Friday July 2nd. On-track and classroom sessions for Students, open track sessions for Licensed.

Attend Day 2
Saturday July 3rd. Morning practice, Time Trial competition, open track (time permitting).

Attend Day 3
Sunday July 4th. Open track all day.

Ride-Along Day 1
Ride on track with an instructor and attend classroom sessions, fee includes annual membership. New members only. Cannot be combined with other fee options.
