Dudes,

If I have to remove the back seat to install a roll/harness bar, would my car still be SSU legal? I can probably assault the back seat with some sort of device to make it fit with the roll/harness bar in place, but would rather not.
Thanks,
Raj

Re: Roll/harness bar question in SSU
Raj, I'm not the best souce for rules interpretation, but since you have no other responses, here goes: I think that you can delete seats and/or interior panels for the purpose of installing a roll bar. You are likely to add nearly as much weight as you will take out, so it should not be a competitive advantage from a weight standpoint. The way you drive I would think the club would encourage you to have a roll cage
Rules section F.5. talks about allowing interior modifications
to permit the installation of the roll bar/cage. Although
the rule specifically talks about door panels, as it says,
as long as the modifications appear reasonable to a
Steward, then they should be OK. If it looks obvious to
most people that excessive modifications were made, then
you would be bumped up one class (in this case, probably
to STGT), as allowed by the rule.
