That's because it' not a really a production car.
It comes with no vin#, and even their website states it's a track car.

I emailed him (Mark Simons) about his Atom3 not having rear fenders or a windshield, and told him PB should be his proper run class. He is not 100% sure he can make it anyway. He may be doing a cross country event the same week as Monticello.

Yes,Greg,I know, boo hoo.

Sorry Greg but the Atom was designed for street use, comes as a complete vehicle, and is road legal in NH. as required by Com,It was not designed as a racing car and there is no racing series for it to run in. The old 1 G racing site said the Noble was designed as a racing car that could be put on the road with some comfort, kind of the opposite of the Atom. I don't consider the Atom to be much different than my Lotus Elise, neither car is a very comfortable road car, but a least the Lotus has weather protection. You may not like the fact that the Atom is a street car but look at how they sit off the ground and the aerodynamics are probably the worst of any car on the track.

The Noble can run any class he wants to, nobody will complain unless he becomes competitive, but I like to see cars run in the proper class :!:

All I'm trying to say here is.. class the cars in the class they should be in. It is'nt that complacated.
Some newbie running with our club gets dusted buy a misclassified car isn't going to protest. They will probably not return.

Let's talk Miatas instead!

Off to DSG tomorrow for a quick dyno/tune and then to Lime Rock on Monday! I bought a set of Hoosier Wets, so it's unlikely it'll rain this year.

I'm not saying we have to talk about Miatas, but I'm kind of feeling like everything posted is getting steered toward Atom-dom... :)

Jeff, you got wets too huh?... Combined with mine, we may have two years of rain free events!!!!

Funny how the Atom was just fine in any class..as long as it wasn't winning . A stock Atom isn't any more competitive on track than any other high performance sports car. Make a few changes..learn to drive it,and it becomes an FTD car. That seems to be when all the whining starts. Many cars are built well beyond their stock potential. The Atom is unconventional to begin with,so it's an easy target to dismiss as a "non" car. Such is its curse.
God forbid the guy in the Noble is fast.

How many Atoms does it take to change a light bulb? LOL

Sounds like some folks should go to the next BOD meet and hack it out.
