Did anyone notice the 2006 Noble m-400 classed in SSB for Monticello?
Should be a winner

It really is just a hopped up Ford Taurus so I don't see a problem with it.

Calling the Noble M400 a souped up Taurus is like calling my Atom a souped up CobaltSS...
425hp,twin turbocharged and 2320lbs...
Very nice cars! I would expect it to move up a few classes...

Not sure about it's 0-60,but the new 2010 SHO Taurus is no slouch,with a 365hp twin turbo motor and a 6 speed paddle shift transmission...the world has gone crazy!(in a good way...)

I don't get it. NB Miatas and BMW E30s are in SSB too. Are you saying this, whaddya call it, Noble?, is faster than them?

my modest 1.6L Civic is in SSB, too... I
did pass an F430 with my Corolla at LRP, but this was in a novice group and I was the one who was less worried about scratching his paint...

our only hope is that the Noble owner is very, very careful with his car

If it's the Noble I've seen run with SCDA, it can only win if it runs. I think it's broken at every track I've seen it at....

The price one often pays to obtain such performance levels...

I sat in one once..was a bit cramped...especially at the pedals

The rolling chassis is actually built in South Africa, and 1g Racing in Hamilton, Ohio, sells it for $72,500. The basic 3.0-liter Ford Duratec V6 is assembled by AER Manufacturing in Carrollton, Texas, and lists for $4,400. Snakebite Performance, 1g Racing's parts division in Ross, Ohio, sells the transaxle and all the ancillary turbocharging hardware for $17,700."

I've seen a silver one at SCDA. It's real quick, but yes, it broke the two times I saw it. The owner did do a terrific job of saving it when he over-powered turn 9 and was sideways pointing at the wall sliding down to 10 (NHMS of course)

What breaks on them? The drivetrain is the very rugged Vulcan 3.0 engine,and the transaxle is a Hewland,so I would expect some dependability there. Maybe it's the U.K. electronics?

I've never worked on one,so I am not very familiar with the cars.

I believe that the engines are mated with the OEM ford transaxle. The drive train is mounted tranverse like the atom. Those cars are probably bullet proof until the owners want to get more power out of them.
I just remembered, I chatted with a couple of noble guys at NHMS a couple years ago. They had a bad engine bay temp problems that lead to melted wires, lines, etc, also they had oil starvation problems with the stock wet sump pan. Both cars where turbo charged, the cars must have air flow issues that would prevent good cooling under a tube chassis, rear engine clamshell.

that car will get reclassed into ssa . a 6 cylinder with twin turbos . it realy should be in stgt but we will see ?
