Yep, another what class does my car fit in?
I read through the 2009 rules and don't really see anything specifically pertaining to camshaft swaps.
I'm running an otherwise stock 2006 LS2 Corvette w/ a cam & intake manifold upgrade. From what I'm gathering, I think I would be put in Street Prepared or maybe even Prepared? (yikes) I would classify my car as competing on the losing end of a stock Z06 (close, but not quite at the hp level putting up 450 rwhp, and no where near the braking or handling capability of a stock Z).
Would my ride fall into a class that would potentially be competing against cars of stock C6 Z06 level, or would it be in a class competing against much more agressive race type cars? I'm looking to have some fun and participate in some timed events, not build my car into a track terror. I wouldn't want to be mis-classed with cars that I had a clear advantage over, but it would be cool to be in a class with cars running relatively ballpark lap times.
Obviously a newbie here with some track driving time at SCDA events at NH, NJ, etc. A couple people have suggestion COMSCC, so here I am looking into it. Thanks in advance for your thoughts... they may be the deciding factor in selling this C6 and buying much desired Z... just kidding.

Re: Cammed C6
I'd say Street Prepared,A class. Disregard the rule about rollbars being required in Street Prepared,("Roll bars are required in all Street Prepared") This is a misprint (that is still on the current book rules) Good idea to have one..but not required,as long as it's not a convertible. Then, you need a rollbar to be on track. If that's a pic of your car,it looks to be a coupe.11.37@122mph..nice.
With good DOT track rubber, you should be able to hold your own. The motor mods bump you out of lower classes. No need for Prepared..yet...it's a bad disease...you've been warned..

It's not what you drive, it's how you drive. "Lap times matter"
Re: Cammed C6
Thanks for the reply and comments. That clears that up. It is a Coupe and I tried to not go crazy w/ mods... just did some engine work, Wilwood brake fluid, decent set of brake pads, and braided flex line upgrade. I just want to beat around town, throw the drag radials on for a couple passes down NED, and drive it hard on the road coarse. My last project went to the extreme and basically turn into a strip car. It goes good, doesn't corner, and stops fast when ya toss out the laundry at the big end. I don't want to go to extremes w/ this car
