SP ROLL BARS

Post by betelgeuse » Sat Feb 13, 2010 12:32 pm

The 2010 rules say roll bars are manditory. The 2009 rules say they are highly recommended.
I don't remember seeing anything about that rule change.
Can someone clear this up for me.

Thanks in advance,

Just a cut-and-paste error I imagine. No rollbars required in SP.

Good catch both of you - Frank is right - rollbars are suggested but not required (unless a convertible). This was a cut & paste error and I will correct in the next few days

Are Firesuits required for SP again --Or was that the Cut and paste error as well?

I thought that rule was relaxed as well as the roll bar requirement for SP,but now I'm not sure...good catch.

Just found a weak wireless connection down in the Keys

I have updated the 2010 Rule Book for the two SP oversights and sent it to the board for review - I expect that it will be posted on the club web site in 2 to 3 days

Revision 1
Page 10 VII section F removed the words “Street Prepared and” just before Prepared cars in the second to last sentence

F. In Street Touring and Showroom Stock classes, drivers must wear, as a minimum, long sleeves (NOT NYLON), long

pants and suitable footwear. Cleated shoes, heavy boots and sandals are not permitted. Fire resistant suits and gloves

and suitable footwear are recommended in all cars. In Prepared Cars, all drivers are required to wear a minimum of a

single layer fire resistant full-length suit and gloves and suitable footwear. NYLON CLOTHING IS NOT ALLOWED.

Revision 2
Page 21 XI 13 – replace required with highly recommended

13. Roll bars and Rollcages are highly recommended
