Cool car! Is it Yamaha fjr1000 powered? You should post up some pics! Looks like you are headed for Formula class.

its a GSXR 1000 motored car . running in PC . 1100 lbs dry with 150 HP . i plan to do the motor up date to diasio's new set up with the mazda RX8 motor putting out 250 hp . i also just bought 2 more 944's one with a bad motor and one with a bad trans .i have to go down to nj this week end to get them .the one with a bad trans will be turned into a loaner car for people that don't have a car to run at the track . this way they can see what comscc is all about and maybe get some more poeple hooked on track driving .

I don't think that will qualify for PC as it is a single seat purpose built race car and probably classified as a DSR design. You better check with Nate or Les etc. for an O-fficial ruling..but I'm thinking it's formula.I still don't fully understand the Prepared rules, as they have Spec Racer Fords and other single seat race only cars in PC,which I thought would be in formula. I considered prepared A,B and C as classifications for street derrived cars that have been heavily modified and no longer fall into more restrictive classes, but this does not seem to be the case. The BODs can place cars in any class by majority vote of a proposal. That's one of their responsibilies
No matter what class it ends up in,it should be a BLAST driving! You may be surprised how fast it is with "just" the GSXR1000 motor. Considering the tracks we run at,I doubt you will ever need a rotary with 250whp. Of course, that never stops us,does it?

Very nice looking cars.I considered one, until I tried to squeeze into it.. They make a turbo version of the rotary with 450whp...yikes!

Prepared cars MAY: be street derived but the class was meant to specially built tube frame or moncoque racers from SCCA GT classes or NASCAR stockers and Formula cars. Spec Racer Ford was placed below FP because they are so slow.

So the cars that would otherwise be classified in formula that are currently on the list of PC cars were placed there by the BODs (by vote) as they were not be competitive in Formula, correct?(I know the F440 was) Bruce, what is your opinion on the Diasio in PC class? How about a Radical SR3(4cyl bike powered) in PC? Similar to a Diasio, but no roof, two seats.Just wondering...

Wow Dave, nice pick up. I'm sure it should be very fun to drive. I tracked with one of those when I was at Miller Motorsports Park and they are pretty quick.

I maybe interested in renting your 944 for some COM events if I cannot get my 944 up and running in time. Let me know how that works?

Good luck.

I'm thinking FP. Single seater, prototype kind of car, but I don't know for sure.

Sure looks cool. 8)

Yea,they are cool.Reminds me of a 3/4 scale 917 Porsche.. Ok..more like a 1/2 scale..

It is probably based more on the 962 Porsche...(hence the 962 designation)

i'm still finding out about the diasio's . the car may be in PB not pc ?? i emailed nate . i restored a real porsche 962 some years back and the diasio is not that much smaller . chris and his dad designed the 962 after the 962 thow my 962 has a tube frame . this car like the porsche 962 does have the option for a passenger seat . so by fules its a 2 seater . there made in the USA and parts are cheap NO CHEAP!!!! the oil pump is 78 bucks for the D962 for the 944 i just paid 600 dollars . full race pads 85 bucks to 160 dollars for the 944 . did i say its cheap ! as for the use of the new loaner 944 that car will first go to new bee's then if there is no new bee using it other people may use the car for the cost of fluids . and if you crash it you WILL help fixing it !

Very interesting. That means an SR3 Radical will also run PC. Interesting indeed! Bike powered track cars are fast and affordable.I am actually surprised you don't see more of them.
You may want to rethink having a loaner car available for "fluids only". After all, consider that you just paid $600 for an oil pump. How will you charge someone for a worn out motor as it wears out slowly. Not to mention tires,brakes,clutch.. etc..

Dave, your new car is pretty close to the top of my dream track car list. Mark I agree, the Radical is pretty close to the same car except with no roof.

as for the loaner 944 . i will not be loaning out my red 944 spec car . it will be my black 84 944 running on street tires stock every thing . if the motor blows up so be it ! i will put in an other old used one . so how would or what wold tou charge for the use of it ? i don't think the radical is any faster than the diasio ?

You could contact Dave Woodle or Ian Prout, and find out what they charge for track rentals.
