WTB 2000 Mustang Cobra R

Post by DanDarcy » Sun Dec 06, 2009 9:36 am

WTB 2000 Mustang Cobra R, either entire car or just the motor. Will consider wrecked or totaled car but must have good motor. Will even consider "show" car.

He ain't passing the Atom in that tub. Everything is ripped out of it and it is still 3500 pounds. It is a sexy machine though. It's a lot of cash for a car going on 10 years old.

Mick --- the price for one isn't that high. How much is a Z06 or a GTR or M3 ? The first event I ever attended with Com, I did in an almost new Z06 which cost more than a Cobra R plus the Cobra R has collector value. I'm hoping to find one for some where in the 30s  . I'd like to find one with some miles on it.

Troy they may be a "tub" but at 3500# it is still a few few hundred pounds lighter than the car I use now plus the lap record at WGI is still held by a Cobra R from July of 2000. :sunny:

Based on the rules discussion I thought you wanted one for the motor.

I thought the R was down around 3k.lbs in race trim. May be not as Ford delivered them....everything needs a little tweak or two.

I would love to see a 2000 Cobra R run at COM on a regular basis. Or..maybe a close replica...

One of the best things about COM is the diversity of its member base, and its heritage!

Eric Woodmad ran one with COM. He pancaked one side in the south oval wall, and never saw him again.

Eric is still a member. He ran good times in a tough class (SPA) back in the day.

I liked the 67 fastback that he used to run too. Has he entered an event recently?
