Striped my NA Miata..and it's faster!

Well...maybe! :D I was going to stripe my Mazdaspeed Miata and decided to do a test run on the NA,

Found out it has a limited slip diff! I figured it had one after driving it on some dirt roads, but was not sure. The 17" wheels/tires really helped with handling and I have some cheap coilovers coming.A little lower,a little stiffer.

Might even try one of those Flyin-Miata supercharger kits....or at least some exhaust work..never enough power! :D

Nice day for a ride in the 'vert! 60 degrees on December 3rd...yea! :sunny:

Nice, looks great. Did you paint them or is that vinyl?

BTW: pretty much all but the base models in 1994 came with a Torsen LSD. For a great source of information about the different models/packages per year go here: http://www.miata.net/faq/america/index.html

For 1994: http://www.miata.net/faq/america/1994.html
Looks like an A or a B package depending on options.

Thanks,Paul. I was told that as well by the guys on the Mazda-Speed forum. I guess all the early 1.8s got the Torsen, and there were no SE's built in 94.

I actually have more room in this NA Miata than my 2004 Mazdaspeed Miata, which I could not drive at all with the stock steering wheel, unless I left the door open for leg room...

This black car will be great to have around for use. May even toss in a small block Ford....and really ruin it!

Stripes are paint..and I was experimenting...so they did not come out exactly as I intended...but ok enough, for my NA parts chaser. :sunny: I do have a spare turbo setup...

Cool, very nice work. The '94+ special cars were all call "M" editions I think. Usually in a specific color, and all optioned up with a few other things (stainless steel door sills, different badges, floor mats, and such).

I think they only referred to the 1991 British Racing Green model (made 3500) as an "special edition", and the most rare is the 1993 "Limited Edition" (made 1500) which is black with a red interior.

The '92 Black/Tan cars like the one I had are sort of a debate on "SE" or not, I think here in America they were just sold as "C" packages and came with some other stuff over a standard Black/Tan. There is one for sale in NH now on craigslist with a black hardtop, I emailed them cause I was hoping they wouldn't respond, or in other words save my marriage.

I still miss mine.

Well, cars with stripes are *always* faster!!! 8)

Love the narrow accent stripes next to the main ones. Good job!
