Changes in weather, changes in behavior

Post by agrabau » Tue Dec 01, 2009 11:24 pm

I find myself wondering when the time will come that we will either know that global warming is a non-issue or we will begin to stretch our activity season longer into what were the winter months.

One or the other will happen; it's either a coincidence or not- December with still no snow. NHMS could have made a lot more money this year had it stayed open.

This has been the mildest November I can remember. I would have loved to have done another event. I did a bunch of changes to my car and now must wait till April to test them.

Yup. It feels less like the winters have shifted later. I thought the cold weather was Nov-April, seems like it's Dec-May now. In 2004 we were at LRP on Nov 20, whoever put that schedule together was a visionary.

There is plenty of snow in Northern NH. Sunday River ski area has been open since Oct. 15. My skis are tuned. I'll spend the weekend of Dec. 12 there. Free. Comps.

I used to ski loads. Haven't for about 8 years now..my hands and toes get cold easily, unless I drink a lot..and then I fall too much.. Think I'll save my money and attend one of those "race'"schools this winter to break things up.

Anyone likes to ski Cannon Mt.? I plan to go a lot this winter - went there twice last season and loved it. Got myself a pair of black-scale-skinned, alien-green-flamed Fischer cool heats with great straight line performance and good cornering grip and need to give them some more workout... and the Corolla got Blizzaks, which also need some more workout!

COM ski trip this winter? Any Mountain? :D

I love cannon. Partly because it is FREE during the week for over 65 NH residents. Also I love the often very foul weather when there is sunshine at lesser areas.

They also have great weekday deals for senior MA residents like yours truly... DJ's Tramline was closed last year , I hope there will be enough snow so I get to try it out!
