New posts seem to stay new posts forever.
Since the last site upgrade, new posts seem to stay new posts, and do not drop off after viewing or after a time out (day or two) like they used to. Mick?

Try going to the main forum page and clicking "mark forums read" in the upper right
Then go to the bottom of the page and click "Delete all board cookies" in the bottom right.
Let me know if that clears it up.

I'm seeing the same thing. I do see the red icon for truly new posts which is helpful, but older posts are still displayed with the blue icon.
I'll look into it.

Re: New posts seem to stay new posts forever.
New problem..I can post on here from my Mac,but not my 1 year old Dell laptop. But,I can post on the 5 year old Dell laptop next to it,running the same XPpro system, through the same routers etc. I have de-cookied everything...checked for viruses, removed filters and firewalls, tried an IE8 upgrade, and using Firefox.Still,no go. It logs me in..and shows me as being logged in..but then asks me to log in again if I attempt to post on this forum. It says thanks for logging in,but takes me right back to the log in screen.. Strangest thing. It's a log jam!

Hey, Mark, I had the same thing happen to me yesterday ! I deleted browsing history and than I could log in and it worked normally. I did try deleting just the cookies at first and that didn't work.

Mick and Mark , I'm having the same problem again about logging and it shows my name but it asks me to log in again and can't post . I'm using a different computer to post this. I tried deleting history---same results. Any suggestions

Can't help you,Dan as my laptop from work will not let me post on COM,no matter what I do. Maybe it's a western Ma. thing...

Guys,
JeffW discovered what the problem was. He realized that he couldn't login from comscc.org but he could from www.comscc.org.
As it turns out there was a setting on our control panel that needed to be switched on to allow users to login from the domain without the www.
Long story short, this may have fixed your login issue. Let me know.

I knew it had to be something,Mick. I'll try the new laptop in the shop tomorrow and see if I can post from it.

And, I believe there is another answer: I can log in using Internet explorer 32 bit, but no 64 bit. 64 bit just sends me around and around.Mick wrote:Guys,

nope, that wasn't it. I can sign in from both 32 and 64 bit versions. Whatever the problem, someone fixed it in the past hour. However, using IE 64 bit I cannot see any pictures or videos posted on the site.
