Ha ha. Seriously, I'm sure they would let you tail them, or follow a fast miata so you can catch up on the straights  At 1:16s, you're not leaving much on the table, once you factor in tires.

From "Going Faster" (excerpt):

"Late in my career I drove a Porsche Carrera RSR at Watkins Glen and it was a beautifully balanced car—you could do anything with it.... My habit on the approach to the 90 at the Glen was to pitch the car at the entry, get a lot of opposite lock and try to be really aggressive with the power trying to get the best shot up the back straight. On one lap—I think I was passing someone—I really carried the brakes down toward the apex. The car was much more stable than usual and I found since it was more stable that I could apply more throttle sooner and the speed at the trackout was much better." - Skip Barber

The SVRA instructor I had a few weeks ago had me missing the first bump on the bus stop, bouncing across both the exit bumps pretty much in a straight line, lifting slightly into the cone on the turn, and feathering acceleration into the turn all the way down the hill. By the end of the day, I had tire song through the turn, and hit the brake point at well over 100mph in a Miata.

The next spot he worked me was coming into the boot and up the hill. Again, by the end of the day, I was sliding all the way around the turn into the up hill. The exit point was actually off the track into the paved run-off just before the crest of the hill, and we were gaining 2-3 car lengths from the bus stop to the crest of the hill.

That said, I'm still messing up the short stretch after that, and braking waaaay too hard before I climb the back hill into the back stretch.

WGI is a fantastic track!

Have you noticed the 12 lbs. of oil pressure going into that first turn and a couple of other places?

Nice runs. You've got 15mph on the Miata...

Racepak G2X is the datalogger, and Im using Chasecam's Dashware software to do the overlay afterwards on the computer.

Yes the oil PSI drops in hard braking, I have a 8qt rear sump racing oil pan....

Consider putting some baffles and doors in the pan. Maybe even just a lip at the top front edge of the deep part of the sump.

It has all that stuff traps, etc.. they say its a road race pan. Im not too worried about the 12psi oil press since its under heavy breaking and the motor isnt under full load.
