Looks like a nice one.

What are your plans for it? Turning a bone stock E30 M3 into a track car is an expensive proposition. Ask me how I know :( There are few well prepped track cars on the market right now if that's what you're after

No matter how much you know about cars, E30 M3's (just like any limited production model) have particularities that you have to watch out for. Ask me how I know :( Haha.

If you are looking for a nice stock example to own, this may indeed be a very nice one. Have Mario take a look at it, buy it and enjoy it.
They are getting rarer and rarer in this condition (non modified).

If you are looking to go tracking / Time Trialing / Racing this may not be a great car to start with as its BONE stock.

You could possibly double your initial purchase getting it "really" track ready. I''d look at some other cars if that is your end goal.

If I had the space,,, I'd look at it myself, and mothball it.
Bone stockers like this are really becoming rare cars.

If you have your heart set on racing an E30 M3, I think one of my coworkers has an E30 M3 BMWCCA J Stock car that he's selling with a bunch of spares, including an engine. If you're interested, I can find out if its still available.

If you're not dead set on an E30 M3, it's a bit more money up front but less expensive in the long run to run an E36 M3. In general, the parts are less expensive, the car itself is more reliable, and it's easier to find replacement parts if something does break.

I guess E30 M3 fever is in the air! I have always really liked those cars and have just started poking around to see what is out there. I came across that same car on Ebay and posted a fellow COM guy about it before I saw this thread. Thanks all for the input and advice. Personally, I'd be looking for a non-track car. Strictly interested in around-town fun. :D

This one seems nice, but probably more than I want to spend right now.

for just around town, I'd actually go for the E30 325is instead. Lots more torque and less finicky.

The E30 M3 shines when you can keep it between 4500 and 7000rpm. And when you polish it :-p

It's loads of fun on the track, or on a winding road... but around town, there are better choices.

By around town, I guess I was talking about twisty back roads and short cuts. I have a Miata daily-driver that gets used in warmer months. It would be great to have a winter car that is as inspiring to drive.

That said, any thoughts on the E30 325ix?

I don't think they're worth it. I have an E30 325is as my year-round car, and with good snow tires it's safe and tons of fun in the snow. good balance and a limited slip diff do the trick.

The 325iX is better in the snow, but not as much fun the rest of the time.

IMHO even if the M3 is a bear to live with, a pain in town, expensive to repair and prep....its still one of the hardest looking cars ever made and I want one :)

(one day ill have one with any luck, parked between my 911RS and my 69 Comaro, and within sight of my Elise and my 7)

Nice. That video, everything I've read, and just about every E30 M3 I've seen have led me to the same conclusion...except mine will be parked between my 959 and Arial Atom. :D
