So can we conceive a way to use the spirit of a 108hp TR6 in a class that does not include 320hp blown Subie's? I only piss them off.... :(
It would be legal for you to use a SOHC 2v Datsun/Nissan L6, which could be considered to be in the "spirit" of the TR-6's powerplant. 250+ crank hp isn't a big problem for a street motor, that'd be enough to give you power/weight parity with most of the turbo'd Subies ;)

Gone but not forgotten: Datsun 240Z, #7 SPB

Thanks guys! Yes, I submitted a rule change request to allow thin spacers in SS/ST , only for the purpose of using aftermarket wheels, and only as long as the resulting wheel offset (aftermarket rim + spacer) does not exceed the +- 5mm from stock limit in SS/ST.

Let's see. Feel a bit bad that my first action in the club is suggesting a rule change ...

Hey Kai,

This group welcomes self-improvement and change...just ask Sam!!

Yea, Dan, the Rover V8 was horrible, and the Stag's suspension was pretty cobbled together. But, I just read the specs on the Group44 GT6+ that was rebuilt this spring to original by Classic Motorsports. It's 168RWHP at under 1800 pounds. They ran it at Road Atlanta to pretty good effect.

The Austin just seems not to fulfill the spirit thing for me - a Chevy small block in an overly-flexible British chassis?

You know, if I keep getting grief about it, I'll have to win the lotto and buy this one: http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C18250

You're welcome! And don't feel too bad, submitting a rule change automatically qualifies you for the vacant rules keeper position 8)
