Re: IAT sensor
I don't know what IAT is referring to, but the Miata Enthusiast's Shop Manual shows this:Barry wrote:I have a 91 miata with 1.6 eng . Flowmeter has 7 wires dose anyone know what color wires go to the

It's definitely worth picking up a copy of this book if you're going to do any work on a Miata.

Re: IAT sensor
I've never used the Hawk blacks, but years ago my old Axxis pads (street/light track pads) did this. It's a result of overheating. Since going to more aggressive pads (I'm using Carbotechs now), my pads don't do this any more.Barry wrote:Also I have Hawk black pads on rear after two events they have

I have been running hawk blacks for years and that is pretty normal. They do look nasty when they first bed in, but they end up seating nicely and last a long time. I have nearly 40 track days on the rears on my car.
How has your car been doing at beach ridge?

Re: IAT sensor
Intake Air Thermo sensor is the Red/Green wire THAA. The sensor is integral to the airflow meter.
I've had Hawk Blacks crumble.

Re: IAT sensor
I've used Hawk Blues. They also crumble.
I solved the crumbling problem by switching to Carbotech pads. Both are great pads. Slightly different pedal feel and initial bite. Barry, if you are interested in Carbotechs for your 1.6 Miata, I would recommend XP10 front, XP8 rear.
