Firstly, I apologize if I am covering ground which has already been tread before.
I would like some clarification about the rules concerning having a passenger with you during your time on the track at an event. The rules state that "one occupant" must be "a COM instructor or a person designated by the Chief Instructor and the passenger" must be "a COMSCC member."
      If I understand this correctly,
1. the driver must be an instructor (or designated person by the Chief Instructor) for a passenger to be allowed
   OR
2. the driver is not an instructor, but an instructor (or designated person by the Chief Instructor) rides along as a third person.
      Am I interpreting this correctly?
The rules state immediately thereafter that "event participants must be registered prior to being allowed on-track." Would the passenger count as an event participant? Does this mean that a passenger must have also paid the event registration fee? What if the potential passenger was another COMSCC member who came as a guest, but one who didn't pay to drive in the event?
I appreciate any clarification you guys are willing to give! Thanks!
            -Chris

Re: Clarification for Passenger Rules
I'm not sure why the rule was specifically written with that wording, but the intent is this:
-Anyone in the car and on-track at an event must be registered (and paid) for that particular event.
-If two people are in the car, at least one of them must be a COMSCC instructor.
-Three or more people in the car is not allowed.
Things may change, but that's the way it is for now.
