Mont Tremblant questions

1.Will there be any electric hookup available for use at the track? (I'm guessing no..)
2.Call me a wimp..but I am dreading the drive through Montreal at rush hour with a trailer and camper. Is there any way around the traffic?
Last year,the gate was unattended but open after 7:00pm. What if I arived later than 7:00pm;will I be turned away?
I'm trying to figure a way around going through Montreal downtown at prime time traffic,maybe by leaving home later, and hitting the city around 7:00pm rather than 4.
As much as I love Mont Tremblant,that ride through the city sure sucks.
3. Any convoys planned? Last year it was the rest stop on 89 in Milton(or Swanton?),I believe,at a specific time. If the only way through the chity is rush hour traffic,having company would be nice.I think I would still be somewhere in Quebec, if not for Sam.

There is no doubt that Route 15 through the heart of Montreal is a mess at rush hour, and busy most other times during the day. There is an alternate route that is a bit more complicated, but you can easily see it on Mapquest or Google. This is taking route 30 over the south bridge (forgot its name), then 13 to either 440 or 640 back to 15. You can get there both ways from either I-89 through Vermont, or from I-87 in New York (bit more direct and less traffic). You can get from I-89 to I-87 by taking the Swanton, VT exit off I-89, taking route 78 to Route 2 (right turn), over the Rouses Point bridge, 9B through Rouses Point, right on Route 11, then 5 miles to I-87 and the border crossing. Its about 35-40 minutes to the bridge from there.

That does seem to be a viable alternative route. I know it's hard to say,but do you think traffic would be lighter than going through the city on 15? Or is it likely to be just as congested. Last year,there was construction on 15 in Montreal,and we were down to one lane in sections.

It's still going to be a Sunday afternoon. I got held up a little because it was pouring in Montreal when I went through ( did a good job filling up the convertible ) but the rest of the ride was OK. I guess it was about 5pm because I got to the track a little after 6

A pickup,towing a 25 foot long trailer weighing 6K lbs, navigating through rush hour traffic, merging into stop and go traffic flows....trying to cross 3 lanes of creeping cars to get to the LH exit ramp...not knowing where I am actually going....was not enjoyable. Not for a guy who won't even drive to Logan. Just one of those country phobias I have.
This year I will have a better idea of where I am going,which is comforting. Mont-Tremblant is worth it!

Mark, it is SUNDAY, not weekday rush hour! Just normal bumper to bumper for about 15 miles!
You did fine last year, most of the drivers were quite courteous, they don't want to tangle with some below the border gringo! Of course, if your trailer was bright red it would be even easier. They love bright red trailers up there, I know that first hand!

To answer your questions:
No electricity in the paddocks.
I cannot say one way or the other about entry after 700PM, the only thing I was told was the gate will be open until 700.

If you plan on clearing Montreal by 300PM you will have plenty of time to spare.

Alternate way to by-pass that is by going on the street surface but considering that hauling a trailer you are better off just being plain patient and drive thru 15 North.
You "could" take a road that would put you on the "Prairies" and take Mercier Bridge to Lachine then portion of Hgwy 20 towards Dorval Airport, Go North on HGWY 13 until meeting with HWGY 40 and double-back on the 40 to 15 North but at that intersection consider getting stuck in traffic (again).
You could also keep going on Hgwy 13 toward the old Mirabel Airport and hook up with 15 North over there. That's not a bad option either.

I will dearly miss you guys there. Not able to go this year due to much travel

Stefan, you should repost your comentary on common swears in Quebec There are probably a few who haven't been brought up to speed on these. I was doing a lot of them after the bridge turn
