Post by 91rs13 » Tue Apr 28, 2009 6:21 pm

Since COM is not going to Calabogie this year --You might be interested in a BMW club event

Register here
http://www.karelo.com/register.php?BID= ... rivEv=7390

BMWCCA Club race weekend too.

Friday is for Advanced -Advanced Solo and Experienced drivers ( COM licensed types for open track/Advanced Solo) And club racing.
For Advanced Solo/ Open track format . You will need to be checked out by an instructor with a check ride ( need a passenger seat) -- but then it is essentially open track for the rest of the day --running with the instructors. Those not signed off --typical drivers school , classroom etc --no novice group on Friday.

Saturday and Sunday for students, open track and club racing.

Less than 2 events experience --Sat and Sunday $350 ( $CAD) plus 5% GST --about $250-$260 ($US)
Sat/ Sun Reg rate --$425 +5% GST ( $370 US$)
Friday/Sat/Sunday $ 525 +5% GST ( $ 450 $US)
Club racers --$550 ( not sure if that is US or $CAD)

Convertibles --Ottawa Rules --So convertibles are allowed with a Roll Bar/roll hoop. No open wheel cars.

See you in Mont Tremblant in June!

Just Bumping up to the top. Exchange rate is a litte worse than when I posted originally back in April --But still a great track.

I am sorry to say I have been unable to attend any COM events so far this year --but hope to be back soon

Hey Sam --How have you been.

I am REALLY missing the COM people and events. This has been a pretty weird year for me though.
I am shooting for August, September and October though!

How is the little Red grocery getter running?

The GG has a tranny issue. Started out as a clutch issue, but it hung up once too often and I think I killed 2nd gear. In process of putting it back to stock for trip to dealer.
Maybe they will bless me with the warrantee still remaining on the drive train. I will just have to be satisfied with the Class Champion, Class record holding Nissan for an event or two. Not a shoddy backup ride!

Actually, the way Dave G has been pushing the Miata of his, methinks the Nissan has very formidable competition. Besides, I have a way to go to catch up with Jay and Pappy.

sam i talked with rick the mazda service manager at ct. own mazda volvo . he told me that there would be no way mazda would warranty the trans in your car . he knows you race it ! mazdas policy is that any mazda that participates in any closed coarse competition voids the warranty ! so before you go to the dealer remove the roll bar and 5 point belts and take the numbers out of the car too .

Thanks David. That is the plan, bring my street driven lightly modded car for a checkup due to tranny grinding. All stuff removed before it gets there.

Registration closes Sunday the 12th.
Still a few student spots left and room for some instructors of course.
