Wheels need a ride to WGI

Post by rajito » Tue Apr 07, 2009 11:30 pm

Anyone close to Boston going to WGI who has room for my track wheels? The McParland kids aren't going, so my wheels are looking for a ride. Worst case, I could slap them on and drive over on the R888's. i.e., pulling a Dan Baldwin.

Raj, I am hauling out on Saturday, April 18 and can find room in the trailer with the grocery getter if you can either get them up to merrrimack before then or meet me at the rest area on 495 in Chelmsford. Mind you, the Grocery Getter has been known to take a bite out of 350Zs, so, there may be a few chew marks on them!

Thanks Sam. I'll get in touch with you after I get the tires on my wheels. I'd post some trash talk but it's too early in the morning for me. :D

You cheated and saw that the last time the GG was beaten by a 350Z was at Watkins Glen last year! Now if I do beat you and Jared at WGI, David will have to put a red 350Z AND the gray one!
You may force me to buy some real race rubber, not the hand me down stuff I find on eBay and the SCCA Forums. :D Hmmmm, I wonder how the A6's I have stashed away would hold up for 3 laps at WGI?
I see a fun year with you and Jared

I figure the GG is good for at least 8 dead bodies! Maybe 9, if I lashed the last one to the roof. Ok Sam, stop this madness, time to head out and feed those drunken horses their 900pm snack and night cap.

FWIW,

A 1971 240Z (that weighs 1000 lb. less than a 2004 350Z) can carry 5 count 'em five race wheels/tires AND a good-sized toolbox AND a helmet AND a floor jack.
A 240Z is its own support vehicle 8)

I have to say, there's nothing wrong with the 350Z that couldn't be fixed by transplanting its drivetrain into a 240Z

Now if only mine were in trackable condition...
