Trying 2 learn the racing line through 2 consecutive corners

Post by alik » Sat Apr 04, 2009 9:14 pm

What could you suggest in terms of reading?

I remember Ayrton Senna's book was a good read, but, at $128 a pop (latest price from Amazon), it's just a tad steep. (I gotta pay my speeding citations).

Thanks.
Al

"Going Faster"- available at Amazon- is the Skip Barber Racing School bible. It starts off very basic and ramps it up a bit. It will discuss throw-away corners etc. Worth the $20.

Ross Bentley has a whole series of books I think the first one is called "Speed Secrets" . They are easy to read and understand and I think they are only $17.95 each (I think there are 6 books in his series)

+2 on Going Faster. Covers everything you'll need to learn from newbie to advanced. Read it, reread it, bring it to the track, reread it. Two and more years from now you'll still be able use it as a reference/learning tool. There is also a companion dvd that you might consider.

Speed Secrets is a great series. Very easy read. The first book is great, I recommend it to all my students.

The White Mountain Chapter of the BMW club has a manual (Curriculum) that is perfect for what we do. It also covers the skid pad exercises that they also do.
