WTB: 17x8 wheels, 114.3x5

Post by skivittlerjimb » Sat Mar 28, 2009 2:48 am

Need a second set of wheels for summer daily driving to go with my track/event only wheels. Can't really drive the RA-1s throughout the summer...

Pretty much need anything decent, looks aren't critical, that's 17 x 8 or 17 x 8.5, 5-lug with a 114.3 spread, with an offset between 32-40 ideally. Later ('05 and up) STi and Evo ('03 and up) wheels would be perfect, of course, but there are lots of other OEM wheels that come in this size range. Budget is about $500 or so for wheels-only or will consider wheel and used tire combos up to $750. I know that's a lot of requirements but I'm hoping someone has something in their equipment dungeon that would work.

Thanks!

17 x 8 Mustang rims from 1994-2004 should be close. The bolt pattern is correct and the offsets will range from the high teens to 28mm or so. There are lots out there for cheap $.

Here's 1 set I found without looking too hard:

Jim, my friend Jason has a set of TE37 Volks for sale in 17*8.5 with good Toyo Proxes for 1300 bucks!! I don't think that the mustang brakes clear big calipers if you ever go in that direction. I tried them on my car and failed.

Here's the thread I just hunted down.

The rims are like 600 each new.

Thanks for the leads, guys. Alex, that's a good deal on those Volks but I'm already good on track tires.

I've got a line on a set of Evo 8 Enkeis (not the lightest wheels but I know they'll fit well and are decent quality) for $450 shipped so I think I'm going to go that route.
