ROLL OVER BAR

Post by 6PAK72 » Sun Mar 15, 2009 12:09 pm

I'm installing the Autopower Roll-over bar. I've drilled the inspection hole where it's easy to see it on tech.

The bar came from Autopower with Grade 5 hardware. I've uprated this to Grade 8.

Question about the backing plate - Autopower supplies 3/16" cast steel plates, as individual pieces - 1 plate spans 2 bolts. A local shop has suggested that I should not do this, but use 1/4" cut steel as a single sheet drilled as the backer.

Next question - Autopower did NOT gusset the weld from the vertical contact bar to the 35-degree triangle-brace down-tubes. Will I be flagged for that, and do I need to get a gusset welded?

Safety and rules compliance input please.

Thank you, trying to be safe and good.
