GO Mark Martin and Joey Logano!
Sorry, I am an old nascar fan,and love seeing one of my favorite drivers back behind the wheel, even though it's not a Ford... And the new local hot shoe from CT makes it all the more entertaining. The kid has talent and charisma. I know its just driving around on a 2.5 mile 35 degree banked tri-oval at 200mph.....but it seems like fun to me! Show starts at 3:40 pm. on speedchannel

I miss the Valvoline colors for Martin. But at least it's not the Viagra car anymore.

Yes,I understand there is a COM memeber with the same name. If he ever makes it to the Daytona 500,you can bet your ASS I'll be rooting for him as well.
I'm pulling for the veteran, but I do respect the new talent.. Old timer...HA!

Matt Kenseth! from last to first. Roush Ford power. Controversy...did Dale race him clean...?I say..like father like son.Bless 'em! Logano had a tough break, but should get him good press as he was avoiding contact when he spun.Did a good job of not taking out a lot of cars. I like the double yellow safety area low side all the way around. 30 cars on the lead lap, three wide all going for the win with 40 laps to go. Damn good show I say. oh..I mean... Ho hum..how boring. Is it spring yet?

Re: GO Mark Martin and Joey Logano!
Logano = dead last. Race = lame. Dale Jr should have been docked 5 laps just like Leffler yesterday for "aggressive driving." Red flag thrown too soon, and Kenseth crying about his good luck finding himself in first when the race was called? Ready to watch the next 35 races now...

Re: GO Mark Martin and Joey Logano!
I watched the Superbowl game a few weeeks ago. Enjoyed it thoroughly. First football game I watched all year.
I watched some very good car race teams today, all trying to win a bunch of money, legally, before the other guy does.At 200mph. ... Might not watch another race all year. Or,I might.
After all, there are 35 more races. Some are even on road courses, one of which I hope to be driving on for the first time this year, after only seeing it for years on TV.
Kind of how I felt running at NHIS/NHMS the first time. Here I am, on the same sacred asphalt.
Haven't been to the Daytona 500 in person since 1992... but the intensity is still there!

Re: GO Mark Martin and Joey Logano!
Let's see: 74 laps to go. You have a car fast enough to unwind the lap you lost. You get a 10-15 mph run on the guy in front of you. You pulled down to paas, knowing you can't pass below the stupid double yellow line (What the hell? Are these guys race drivers running for a million plus bucks, or in driver ed?). The slow asshat in front pulls down to block, you duck low. You need to come back up cause you can't pass below the kiddie lines. That asshat that blocked you is still moving slower than you, oooops, tapped him. Oh gosh, oh golly, it is racing people!
Get off Jr's butt. It isn't like McMurray punting Jr into the wall to win, or cry baby Lefler punting his teammate JJ to win.

+1 on Mark Martin, no one in the garage area deserves a championship more that him. Joey Logano did NOT impress me with his performance at the Toyota invitational late model race at Irwindale, between him taking out the race leader Joey Pole on the last corner of the last lap, and his unapologetic post race interview. Saying that Dale jr drives just like his father is an insult to his father, I was not really Dale sr fan, but no one could wheel a car like him. If he was not out of a race, he was a pretty much a condender to win every time.

Well,I guess I was hoping to see more of Seniors drive in the boy.Maybe there is hope..I guess he needs to get pumped up to try harder than he has been, lately. Too hard? I dunno..looked Ok to me.Just racing.
The one quote I will always remember Dale sr, by;
" There aren't any guarantees out here...except if you're between me and the checkered flag, you'll wish you weren't."
I miss him. I could not watch nascar for years after his death.
Logano. I give him the benefit of a doubt, youth and all. He honestly felt what he did was OK. Might not have been, but he stayed with his convictions. I think he will be fine. Good spirited driver.
