Fuel lines through passenger compartment

Post by Shawn624 » Wed Feb 04, 2009 2:32 pm

XI, 11. Fuel cell (tank) must be separated from the passenger compartment by a metal bulkhead. All fuel and oil lines passing through the passenger compartment must be either steel tubing or steel braided hose (Aeroquip, Earls, etc.).

I'm putting a fuel cell in the RX-7 and just noticed this:

Where this appears to exceed the rule, is it an acceptable alternative?

i would say no. it is not steel or steel braided line. besides, their hose ends are the only ones that fit the lines. you would be better off staying with aeroquip, earls, russel
need parts for your trailer, welding repairs/fabrication (sorry cant do aluminum), tires mounted and balanced, feel free to email/pm me. i am located a little west of nashua. ted

Hi Shawn,

I have a section of that stuff on my car now that I bought at a swap meet. The one with the steel braided cover is indistinguishable from the other stuff, but since it is about the same price and not as easy to work with, I'd stay away from it.
