Calabogie 2009

Post by chaos4NH » Wed Feb 04, 2009 12:48 am

3 Balls Racing out of Michigan is going to Calabogie on Aug 29 & 30. It might be a fit for some since it falls between two of out NHMS home dates.
3 Balls Racing has a couple of guys who have run with COM in the past, Ken Smith, and Matt Brooks (who attends our events with his dad, Kevin).
Hoping to see both Kevin and Matt at Watkins Glen in April.

Do they require you to be a member? Will they recognize a COM license? Do they run time trials? Do you have a link to their site? Will it EVER stop snowing?

Hi Mark,

http://www.3ballsracing.com

If you search our forum, you'll find information (If Mark S dosen't provide a link) . Matt is a COM member and I'm sure he'll post details. From what I remember, they just have open track, and fairly loose about requirements.

With all these other clubs, do you have to be members of their respected clubs to run with them?

For the Patroon BMWCCA/ Ottawa BMW Club event at Calabogie --I do not think they are enforcing the member rule --but final registration info is not--finalized.
The event will have a BMWCCA club race incorporated into it. ( Fri-sunday)
For those not racing in club racing --the Friday format with be an "open track" style day for advanced students ( you will need a check out ride at a minimum) Saturday and Sunday will be a combination of HPDE/ Open track/ club racing. The rates we discussed will be low --and in Canadian dollars which makes for 20% discount for US$ if things stay the way they have been.
For other Patroon events or most other BMWCCA events --membership is req'd ( or there is a surcharge on the entry fee for non members. PS --the open track format applies to WGI too in June. Sorry--no open wheel cars or convertibles without roll cages.

Nasa I believe requires membership -- but for your $40 you also get a subscription to Grassroots motorsports.

EMRA used to not require it unless you ran for season points. They also recognize COM licenses

FYI...Track Guys will be at Mosport the two days following the 3 balls event. (3 balls Calabogie Aug 29-30, Track Guys Mosport Aug 31-Sep 1)

I have an "in" with the Track Guys people, and can probably make some connections for Com instructors.

Just think...four days, two awesome tracks...
