WTB: Trailer (Smaller the better)
Re: WTB: Trailer (Smaller the better)
I'll definitely talk to Ted. I was thinking it might be cheaper to buy the Dively, then have him add on the bits I want.

Also call Bruce Flanders, Forrest Marine and RV in Tyngsboro, MA

He has sold at least 3 trailers to COM members. Myself (2), Jason Marrota and a friend in the BMW club. Ask him about an open deck trailer and I am sure he will get you some information.

Re: WTB: Trailer (Smaller the better)
Mine did come with chain bracket plates welded in the four corners. I got this tie down set http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/produc ... TIEDOWNKIT and the hooks latch right into the chain plates so I have no issues with that. The only concern I had was the 14" tires, but they don't seem to be an issue either. I did have to weld a piece of angle iron to the end of one of the ramps to keep me from driving off the end.Mick wrote:Thanks for the info. Did yours come with D-Rings or the chain brackets for tie-downs? All the pics I've seen have the chain brackets which I'm not crazy about.John F wrote:I have the 15" Dively. It's plenty strong enough, but only weighs 1350 pounds. Holds my cobra fine and I've used it to haul my daughters 325xi back and forth to the dealer when it died. Tracked nice to Mont Tremblant last year. $2100 at http://trailerplaceinc.com/economy.htm or you can drive to western PA and save $150. I waited 4 months last year to see a good open trailer come up and just ended up buying new. Stephan beat me out by about an hour on his steal!

while i was not on VACA, i was very busy with the charity drive and may i mention we should hit the $25,000 mark!
i am able to do whatever you want mick as long as its not enclosed or made from aluminum
i will say the steel prices are still up right along with trailer parts (steel). i would have to chat with you to come up with a design and price it out. i can add anything from tire racks to tie downs if you want, i could even get you set up with tire bonets opposed to straps to the frame or suspension of the car.
i will text you my work cell # and home #
