Did I Hear Correctly?

Post by chaos4NH » Fri Jan 02, 2009 12:42 am

A birdy told me that Gordy might be looking at a Speed 3 for next year! Or, was that a Mini?

I heard he was even looking for an Alfa. At least he did make a search and found on in CA, but... but... but.. if... if... if... you know how it goes.
At this point anything is a good guess eh?

Very true.

A speed3 would be good or at least part of one, could make an interesting "right" wheel drive. I was looking at a sports racer that was converted from a formula ford and ran a Buick V6 (needs an engine) speed3 engine might fit. But no room for a student.

Was also looking at a 550 Spyder replica with a good tube chassis and set up for water cooled power (Subaru?).

Any other suggestions?

The RS550 replica sounds sweet! But, me thinks your signature will have to be modded a bit.
What ever you do, get going! April 4 is only 90 days out!

If you are going to invest in an open wheel Formula Car or Sports Racer make sure it is SCCA legal. Otherwise resale value will be nil.

I'd like to see someone build a fast electric kit car racer.

Gordon I've got just the car for you
-It has a small steering wheel like a formula car
- it is mid engined like a formula car
- extremely light weight like a 550
- seats two like a 550
- water cooled like the Subaru
- even has airconditioning and pwer windows
- its your size ! doesn't fit me !!!!!
- only has 7000 miles on it.
It is a 2006 Lotus Elise, black with black interior, black hardtop, black wheels, real Darth Vader looking. Just give me a call if interested. I got in and out of it four times in one day and couldn't walk the next day my back was so bad from the experience

Sounds like Dan has a good deal for you...
But if you still want to stick to Alfa and with the above specs, plus get about $1 million from your piggy bank you can get this one here...:

Ooooh An Elise! Now that is an angry little car! Just my style. Second only to the Exige on the list if ALC's. I aspire to drive one someday.

Dan, I'll give you a call.

Bruce, The SR is an 85 chassis and is already obsolete by SCCA standards (but is probably still legal) which is why it is so cheap. Plus it needs a motor to go on the Hewland Mk9 trans. Could be an interesting project but not for me at this time.

Gordon, could you PM me with the information (location, price, etc.) on this SR. I might be interested.

Thanks

Jonathan

I am willing to propose a new class: SPDC or SPE
Any voltage legal.
