I'd like to COMMEND John and the Board for being sensitive to the times. Having more home events at this times is something that makes sense.
Yes it is unfortunate we will not have Mosport and Calabogie but perhaps in 2010 we can resume that and even add more track events (ex: NJ).
I also hope we will be able to have different configurations at NHMS, something nice to have.
Realize some people do not like NHMS but in "my classroom" (I think I have earned that  ) I have always maintained that NHMS is one of the most challenging tracks in North America. It has different types of turns, elevation changes, etc that no other track has and if you can master NHMS one will do well in ay other track. So consider 2009 as a great chance to improve your skills and get better for the tracks in 2010 :D .

I also hope EVERYONE takes advantage of the two away events as these tracks are long and one can have lots of track time that will more than make up for the trip there, etc.

Thanks for posting this early - it's helpful for planning vacation time. I hope to make both The Glen & Mont Tremblant this year.

i do like more away events, but you cannot discount the club making some money in these down years, maybe the club rotates, each yr, one yr there 4-5 away events, next yr is 2, that way there is no lose involved.
anyway i can't wait, i will be at both away events and 3-4 nhis events.

I think if you give up events one year, you may likely not get them back the next year. Especially weekend events...

Awesome schedule, COM is doing what it needs to do. I will be at both away events and at least 3 NHMS events. April and June are looking pretty busy considering two other Patroon BMWCCA events around the same time and the april NHMS SCCA drivers school... wow!

Mario, if you had an SCCA lic. previously- you just need to write a letter to the regional licensing chair and explain why you were unable to complete the required # of events. I have, unfortunately, had to do this several times and I always was given my national lic. Especially given the economy etc.- I don't think they want to be hard-asses and alienate too many racers. Make sure you make note of any other track events you had with other clubs- that way there is no thought that you forgot how to drive :)

Actually I am now looking at the NASA Northeast program as an alternative to SCCA club racing...

SCCA just passed a rule allowing folks with full competition licenses from CCA, NASA, IMSA and other programs can club race with SCCA. So, switching from one club race to another should not be a problem.

I've posted the 2009 schedule on:

http://locostusa.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=38

There is some interest expressed already and it seems they regret the loss of the Calabogie and Mosport events. I'll follow up and see if those folks can publicize in their clubs...

It's interesting to see the ripples in the COMSCC pond travel so far.
