COMSCC Artists? Care to design a COMSCC T-Shirt?

Post by WillM » Mon Nov 17, 2008 8:10 pm

I have been working on a couple of ideas for a COMSCC t-shirt. Something different that just our logo.

Unfortunately for me, I put the pencil and sketch pad down several years ago, have just enough artistic ability left to draw up a bad Picasso.

Are there any artists in our group that would be interested in designing or helping to design a COMSCC t-shirt?

We have no 'official' club plans to order a bunch of t-shirts, but this is something I think we can and should be able to provide.

Please send me a PM or email !

   Pete - you SLAY me! You're a KILLER!

How about the COM logo above the left boob, and the schedule on the back? Kinda like this:

We need a bad-ass tagline for the club. I like "I'm fast" or "Go fast, take chances".

Clare said she wanted one too and that I should put it on Cafe Press. So I did. Sorry if I'm stepping on toes here, Will. I've got big feet.

I like this style shirt... can be used as long sleeve for event in some classes.
I think the logo should be BIG, make a BIG statement, either with the hand drawn COM as you suggest or this one:

i'm fast would be good for your self . but if its a club slogan then it should not say , I , I'M , ME , MYSELF , but somthing like . the art of speed , fast an fun , fun at speed , no excuses just fun , it's all about the fun , it's about the driving , driving the fast line , the best peaple the best drivers , the joy of driving , drive at the limit , driving good an fast , going fast good , pure fun . some thing like that is what i think it should say ?

^I like that one myself...only let's make it...."The best people,the best drivers"

BIG COM logo like Stephan suggested on front (minus the antique Vette..) with "The best people, the best drivers" on the back.

Maybe add a little VW humor underneath that......"Drivers wanted"

Here are a couple of ideas.

I know this first one doesn't have the club name or URL, but IMHO people are more apt to wear subtle designs. Also, a nondescript logo can also pique a person's interest and spark discussion. It could have the club name and URL on the back or down the sleeve instead.

A more traditional approach.

I think the shirts should be long sleeve since we require participants to wear long sleeves when on track. People will also be more likely to wear them when they are running with other clubs. I like the idea of doing black shirts as they'll stay clean longer when working in the paddock, but people may be hesitant to buy them if they think they'll be hot in the summer.

I like the top ones, but they should say "Go Fast" on the back. Or "Go Faster". Short sleeve.

I must admit that getting free t-shirts from the Patroon BMWCCA club is something DJ does well. I would reach out to DJ to find out who does their design.

Patroon uses a Chapter member.

Accent Promotions / United Greeks in Albany. Guys name is Tom Maslanka.
http://www.accentpromotions.com/accentp ... ctinfo.htm

He does the designs with input from me --and the club buys them and gives them away to students at all events. Instructors get them at events other than LRP --where they get the option of lunch or the t shirt.

I suggest we have a motto and/or season schedule in the back.
