Nissan 370Z

Post by chaos4NH » Thu Nov 06, 2008 11:04 am

I was uber impressed with the speed and handling of the Nissan GT-R that ran at our past 2 events, but, personnally find it butt ugly. Why couldn't Nissan have put the package under the great looking 350/370Z body?

I think the new GT-R looks pretty cool in a brutal/utilitarian sort of way. It's never been a "beautiful" car. It is just too big and heavy, even for a GTR. I'd like it a lot more at 7/8ths the size and weight.
Still, there's no arguing with the outright performance capability of the car.

Personally, I'm more of a Z (240Z that is...) guy than a GT-R guy anyway. Smaller/simpler/lighter-weight/rwd appeals to me more than bigger/more-complex/heavier/awd.

It looks like the new 370Z will be moving more towards 240Z ideals. If it's anywhere near 3000 lb. (less is fine, of course!), I may be in the market for one...

i too don't like the new body on the nissan . the old R34 skyline style body looked much better . but was getting dated . the new gtr is a very good package . i just can't get over the butt ugly head lamps .

...of course this still doesn't prove that any of them think the Aztek looks good.

See Carl, over 1800 people belong to the Aztek Fan Club. :o Maybe we should invite them to run at a Com event

Rumor has it that a club member may have just got his hands on a GTR :-)

Didn't club member Michael Wilson just compete with his GT-R in the last two events?

I don't believe the GT-R would have anything to offer you, anyway, Chris. I mean, after driving (faster than anyone probably has a right to, btw) exotica like Volvo wagons, Nissan Sentras, and of course the almighty Miata, how could a GT-R be anything but a disappointment to ya?!

I hope to be able to sweet talk Mike Geldart it to letting me see
how much of a disappointment it might be to drive his black beauty.
