jake i make my own digital looking letters and # using con-tact paper . they stay on in rain and don't leave a sticky mess when removed like tape does . i have never tryed to do them on primer thow ! if its the car i'm thinking of . and the quarter glass on your car is to small to meet the comscc rules for size of letters and numbers . office max and officedpot does sell magnetic sign backers like what your looking for . the problem with primer is its a ruff substright so getting things to stick is hard . if it is the car i think it is . you could always use a number template and spray them on with guide coat . you would have to give it a good block sanding before painting so there won't be a ghost of the numbers after the car gets painted .

yes its the primer camaro, however its a urethane primer and alot smoother then you think
any links to this contact paper? sounds interesting.
pics? what program do you use to make the digital looking numbers? or do you do it with stencils by hand?

lol, you and me both, the primer is standox's 2k hs system urethane primer which lays very smooth, with that said it would be good insurance to sand before numbers, but maybe i will just do magnetic for now as car will be re-prepped/block twice more for paint this winter anyway.

Try these guys for reusable vinyl #'s, they did well for me:

Tell them what you need and when you need then (ASAP!) and they'll come through.

Magnetic Signs
Jake, you could try Fastsigns in S.Portland by the jet port 773-0075 just be sure and ask for the stronger vinyl and magnets. They have turned thing around quickly for me. Craig

Same day mail. I think they have easy-peel-off ones.

no mix system in my shop as i do little quick turnaround stuff and my standox supplier is 3 mins away. Thats the nice thing about standox is, there are 2 thinners I use, 1 hardener, 1 primer, 2-3 clears depending on finish I am demanding and if finish will be cut and buffed.
I will be painting the car 2007 bmw lemans blue, kinda fitting
I usually get my base coat 3 qts at a wack so its easy to go get it.

that car will look good that color blue . are you going to do strips or graphic on it ? if you make it look to good you might not want to take it to the track ? i too don't do a high volume of cars . its a shop for high end sports cars and race cars also . the winters were i am are not that bad . im on the cost in ct. so we don't get a lot of snow and its not all that cold .
