If you have a 4 door car in prepared,can you run with the rear doors off?How about the deck lid? I know it's a pretty much an "anything goes" class,but I'm not sure about body parts. :D Thanks.

Read the rule book. In short, the prepared rules are pretty much the opposite of the ST rules. If the Prepared rules don't say you can't do it then go for it.

I did read the book,and the only place I see doors addressed is in SP.

Under Prepared rules,it says; "all interior and exterior components MAY be maintained."

May be...maybe not.... :idea:

At the first COM event I attended, there was a vehicle that looked like a Dodge Omni-024 pickup truck. Not a Rampage, but a homemade version with the back of his hatchback just cut off. There was nothing behind him but enough "frame" to support the rear suspension. I'm quite certain he wasn't in ST.

This is a very broad and general statement.

FIA covers everything from F-1, world rally and NHRA events.
SCCA is just as diverse an organization..
NASCAR has an open wheel division that is...wild.

That's a LOT of rules and classifications. :shock:

I'm sure there is a place for every design of vehicle,even highly modified.

I like the idea of the Omni/pickup truck.

I was thinking similarly,making a kind of mini Craftman truck looking vehicle out of my Focus. Keeping it fwd of course. :wink:

With the proper safety equipment,I don't see why it wouldn't fly in Prepared. It would make a nice....low cost project.

How about SCORE? Certainly a major sanctioning body.

They have an unlimited class that pretty much lets you do anything you want,as long as it passes their safety guidelines.

What I really need is to stay out of the shop, before I turn the Focus into the worlds first 235hp Segway :lol: :lol: :lol:

You cannot convert a 2 hp (each) motor Segway into 235 hp equivalent in electric power... So I'd sugest you stick with Sam's suggestion... :lol:

Well.. for one there is no transaxle... these are two non tandem electronically controlled... but we will be happy to sell you the software, the balancing and propulsion technology because at this power and rate you will need it. :wink:

I see you do not wish to follow Sam's suggestion... :shock:

There was a great episode of how things work that aired recently showing how the Segway is made,from start to finish. Very interesting!

As far as following Sams suggestion, I believe the 235hp transporter would be a safer bet... #-o

Sounds more like a motorcycle. I wonder if they have rules to say one wheel should be in front of the other? Should corner a lot better. The other drivers might resent how wide you are.

It would look cool though!

do you think that removing the rear doors will save that much in weight to lose the aerodynamics . gut the doors install lexan side glass . if you really want i will make you fiberglass doors or better yet carbonfiber ?
