RX-7 GTU for Free

RX-7 GTU for Free

I have a White (w/Blue interior) non-turbo 1989 (160HP) RX-7 GTU with 120K miles, and no sunroof.
I will give her to anyone who can pick up in Weston, MA.
I wish I had the time/shop/$$$ to make a track car.

The car runs, but the ECU is throwing two codes, one for the Metering Oil Pump,
and one for an air unit near the six port actuators.
I plugged in two used replacement parts, but the Oil pump code remained.
According to a rotary mechanic, once the oil pump throws a code, the ECU must be replaced.

The GOOD
- 40K on a Mazda rebuilt well cared for stock motor & clutch
- new engine mounts
- rebuilt "top end": all hoses & fuel lines, spec'd injectors, etc.
- new brake rotors (from an auto shop) & calipers (from dealer)

The BAD
- passenger door does not open
- battery is not tied down
- brake master (or booster) is shot
- RR shock is toast
- cat is OK, but back exhaust is toast

Odd PARTS (some new, some old)
- manifold
- old shocks
- oil lines
- oil pump
- a set of Blizzacks with only one winter of wear

If interested please call my cell phone, 617-771-2732.
Otherwise, she'll be at the junk yard a few weeks before the snow flies.

I replaced her with an RX-8 which should make it to NHMS3.

That was quick!

Three hours after my post, Carl left a message
And as I was returning his call, Scott called for Jamie.

So, I believe she's been taken...to the track.
Nice to know there are more local epitrochoid fans.

See you at NHMS3.

I'm planning to pick it up Saturday. Between Jamie, Chuck, and I, one of us will get good use out of it.
Thanks Michael!
