I ran at one event in 02, and promised I'd be back... As an SVTOA activities director, predominantly scheduling and running their autox events at Fort Devens, I have several conflicts with Com's best parts of the schedule, every season it seems. I really wanted to go to Mont Tremblant this year, but my event is on the Saturday following the two days at MT. This would only allow me to travel out there for a one day DE...which is a waste. Two of the NHIS dates are in conflict with SVTOA dates.. and usually not the time trial dates but the practice days, which I have the most interest in attending. At this point It looks like I'll only be able to go the first NHIS, the last event, being LRP, and possibly Mosport if I can swing the days off.

I'm pretty sure this is my last season as an officer of the SVTOA so I think my focus will shift from autox to OT as time goes.

I'm looking forward to being one of the noobs..

Troy, I'm looking forward to seeing that car on the track...it's a sweet ride.
Mosport is a must...watching the Miatas scurry for the woods as we go up the back straight was my season highlight.

Maybe you can line yourself up as an instructor for me. I'd ask Mick, but he doesn't know squat about mustangs. ;) j/k I saw Mick's track vids of Mosport and I really want to go. I had the Cobra to Shenandoah with SVTOA last year, and really liked it. It's a really heavy car though... I'm hoping I won't shred my new 710's too fast. :)

I have been a member of Com for 2 years but haven't actually taken the leap to sign up for an event for whatever reason.

I help run the SVTOA Auto X stuff with Troy, last year we did a 2 day SVTOA On-Track event at Summit Point which was a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to adding more track days this year.

I really have no excuses now... I just ordered a new Diesel Tow Vehicle, I have a trailer, 2 sets of wheels with 710s and I have 5 weeks of vacation saved up and will earn another 4 weeks this year.

What am I waiting for?

Obviously we go to these events for the racing but I think part of the fun is crusing out to the event with people you know, hanging out after the event if its dinner at the hotel or beers in the parking lot "bench racing". Its just fun to get away for a few days.

I have been looking at a lot of clubs track schedules and I don't really see anyone else going to Canada. As Troy said we have a conflict with Treblant but I would love to do Mosport and anything else thats within a days drive (10-12 hours). NHIS and LRP are day trips but doing the distance trips is more like taking a vacation rather than a "sick" day off work.

Now if I can just find Entry and Hotel money I'm golden! 8)

SVTOA Folks

Greetings -

I used to be one (SVTOA) - then I went to the "Dark Side" aka Miataville. Anyhow, be sure to check our rules for safety requirements. Some of you I know have forced induction and other mods which will require safety features you may not now have.

Best,

Don

Troy I had fun at Shenandoah- but it is not even worthy of being called Mosport's illegitamate stepchild. Think about being able to hold the gas pedal down for more than 3 seconds. Imagine corners that will make you pucker to the point of constipation (turns 2 and 4). Now you have an idea of what Mosport is all about.

I read through last years classing rules and I'm pretty sure my car fits into STGT. If it was modded any heavier it would probably bump to SPA and require a cage, which I'm not willing to do for a brand new street car. And besides, I have tried to keep up with Brian Stonkus and can't even come close, so a breach of the class rules realistically will not come into play as I'm not going to be very competetive.
