As long as you have rules and regulations,there will be controversy about them. Like Stephan said at the beginning of this thread;
"the BEST way to get this addressed is to SUBMIT your reasons for changes or GO to the COM meetings."
Some rules may seem to bias one make over the other,but I am sure it was not intentionaly conceived, and only requires that someone request a review of that particular regulation.
Sometimes the rules are vague, and require a request for clairification.
To play by the rules requires some careful preparation as other competitors are watching.
...or as cuda6666 suggests,move to a class where (almost) anything goes.
except cutting of fenders

It's not what you drive, it's how you drive. "Lap times matter"

I would not feel guilty calling the spindle, a component of the braking system. I feel that the spirt of ST is that you are allowed to unbolt a braking system from another car (from the same manufacturer) and bolt it to yours. When I ran in ST, I swapped early 70's Impala brakes on my gen 2 Trans AM.chrizz28 wrote: Interesting sidetrip... a LT1 F body can run LS1 F body brakes, but needs to change the spindle. No brackets are required so this would be legal??
It maybe more economical to fab together mis-matched parts, but allowing this opens the door to rules creep. Parts swapping has always been a hot topic when classifying between ST and SP. But with the current safety rules, the only penalty going from ST to SP is the 3 timed hot laps.
