Does anyone live in the Brookline area with a tow rig?

Post by TroyV » Mon Aug 25, 2008 8:04 am

I just bought a 98 BMW 328 coupe from the Lars Anderson Museum, and I'm looking for a convenient way to get it home. The car is drivable, but has issues, and I'd much rather pull it out of there than drive it out. The car will be going to my place in Somerville. It would need to happen in the next day or so, and be between the hours of 10am and 4pm. I'd be glad to cover your fuel and your time if required.

Any takers? Send me an email at tv2vgt@yahoo.com or send me a private message.

Image That is going to need a rollbar for sure! Oh,I thought you said you bought a 1901 Winton heavy racer.

You should have bought this one....Image

What a great place that is. I haven't been there in years.

If I wasn't out in the boonies I'd help you out,Troy. If you know someone with a truck/suv, you could rent a tow dolly for the day. It's usually about $75 bucks.

Sorry Troy, I can't help.

I live nearby, but my trailer is out in Medway. I'm very busy this whole week too, so no free time. :(

You bought a car from Larz Anderson? Yikes! I had no idea you were so wealthy. ;)

That would be illegal in your neck of the woods.
Considering this is fairly close (Brookline from Sommerville) you'd best get a local tow truck (flat bed) to help you out.

You are welcomed to use my trailer but I am tied up at work following a long trip to Asia meaning you'd have to come to Nashua for the trailer, do your thing and drop it back.
Let me know.

I can help you. During the day, our field service rate is $85/hr, plus mileage. (from Hartford)

I guess I know where I stand with Carl these days... :) It must be because I left the time on my time card blank at Tremblant. I figure that's the only dirt he has on me. ;)

I also thought it was odd that the museum was selling a car, but apparently their members donate cars for the museum to sell to generate operating cash.

This 328 might just be a daily driver, or maybe it'll turn into a cheapo track beater...who knows...

I've got a trailer you are welcome to use, but it's in Plymouth, if you have a tow vehicle. Or if you can get it off the grounds to a street I could probably shoot in after work and pick you up at 5-6PM. I typically get out of work around 4-5 in Brockton. Give me a call if that helps, 774-313-6281.
