A simple way to help promote COM

Post by Mick » Wed Aug 13, 2008 2:11 pm

Hey all,
COM needs your help.

As many of you have heard, we’ve had low attendance at some of the away events this year and we could really use your help to get more entrants for Mosport. In an effort to boost awareness I’ve created a banner that our members can place in their signature files on other forums to promote the club.
Here’s an example:

Image

Please help us out by adding this simple code snippet to your signature on other forums. (…Raj, I don’t think the forums you frequent will help bud.)

Code: Select all

The nice thing about this is that we can update the messaging for each event, and the banners on everyone's signature will update. Shortly after Mosport I’ll update the file to promote the NHMS dates.

Thanks
-Mick

Banner looks good!I'm going to incorporate it in my sig on a few other sites.
Might be a good idea to have a newbie area on the forum so people might ask their questions without resevation.

Not that I ever have that problem

When I first heard about COM (word to mouth from DentSport) - I tried to find it and googled:

'COM track HPDE time trial'

And I never even got close.I got everything else, but no COM. I actually was not able to find the site.

There is a need to get more links to the site. Also consider modifying the site page Meta Description with search keywords.

nasioc.com is 60x60 or 5k whichever is smaller

Can you monitor how many times the banner has been accessed?

Not specifically. But I have a good sense of where our traffic comes from and hope to see a boost in referred traffic from forums.

Here's what our current referrer statistics look like over the last 6 months.

As you can see, the majority of our traffic is direct, with a very small percentage coming from referring forums.

I'm not sure what syntax Myspace uses. You could try this if the previous example doesn't work

Code: Select all

<a href="http://www.comscc.com/"><img src="http://www.comscc.com/images/banners/fast.jpg" border="0" /></a>

Is it possible to update the event on the trailer? I have it posted on various forums and the event is outdated.
