what kind of speeds can be had on the long straight? 140-150? with 500 hp?

My Speed 3 peaks about 125 and I think the Subie STIs check out around 135-140.

... I was hitting 105 at the braking of 8 and about 108 at the braking of 10...I had not time to look at what I was doing at 1-2 because of obvious reasons...

I don't know what my top speed at Mosport will be with the current setup - the last time I was there, the ECU was shutting the car off at 120mph - the speed limiter hadn't been reset. 135 should be no problem. A '69 Camaro isn't particularly aerodynamic, though 500hp will certainly help. The problem with the back straight at Mosport is you start it off from close to a dead stop and 2/3 of it is uphill. I'd think whatever you did at Tremblant would be about the same.

yeah my new front splitter and rear spoiler laid down will help, i imagine 135-145, as it has good tq and pulls hard from 3000-6800 rpm
i think i was doing around 125 or so at mt
on a side note a my car weighs about 3200 with driver

That has been my experience (not that any data from a Miata has any relevance to 500 HP

). According to my datalogger, my top speed at Tremblant is actually just a tiny bit higher than at Mosport, but they're very close. (Of course Mosport has a much greater average speed.) I was also surprised to learn that my top speeds at Mosport are not at the end of the back straight, but at the bottom of the hill going into T5. Then again, with about 100 HP, why should it surprise me that I'm faster going downhill?

BTW, you guys estimating speeds with your speedometers know that stock speedos are wildly optimistic, right? Most of them overstate speeds by at least 5 MPH around 100 MPH.

Of course, top speed is also kind of beside the point compared to lap times, which is really what matters. Except no one at home or work ever asks what my lap time was. All they ever seem to ask is "how fast did you go?"

dave i agree, much rather have a faster lap time at 135 top speed then slower but run 150.
that said i want the best of both,lol,
mosport sounds awesome

In 2005 my trap speed with a 340bhp Mustang weighing 2950 wet, as registered by a radar gun, was 133 mph. That was in 4th gear 1:1 and 3:55 gears.
