Any Sunday convoys to MT mind a first timer tagging along?

I'll be travelling solo so no navigator and I'm getting the heebie-jeebies about Montreal ending up like a twilight zone episode.
I was planning on starting up rt.2 to 91 north to 89 north to 133 etc into Montreal but can meet anywhere along the way with a plan. I don't have to stop for fuel (well,lunch...) and can cruise about 70-75mph. with truck/trailer.
I'm punctual and have all my border credentials.

I was going to post a convoy notice for a 945am meet at the Hooksett rest area on 93, then meet with MS on 89 about 1000 with the arrival at the picnic point (rest area up on 89 just South of Swanton) for the pit stop/lunch at 115pm. Then on up to the track. Anyone is welcome to join either at Hooksett - I am making a drive through at 945am, no waiting!- or at the rest area up on 89.

Note I adjusted the times slightly. We should be hitting the 91/89 split in White River Junction, VT around 1130am +/- a few.

Will it still be about 1:30 at the Swanton rest area? I could not find the rest area on Google ariel photos.I went from St.Adams to Swanton on 89 north and could not see it on the ariels.

I think what Sam meant about Swanton is the exit 21 off 89, the last exit WITH gas prior to crossing the border. There is no rest area there.

I will be leaving at about 8:00AM from Nashua but picking up more family in Milford then heading up 93+89.
Walkie-talkie on channel 2.5 (channel 2, sub-channel .5) or call Sam on his cell ...
From the intersection of 93/89 (Concord) to Swanton you figure about 3.5-4 hours depending what you drive + tow. Driving a car w/o tow its usually under 3 hrs.

It looks like the rest area is a few miles north of exit 18 (rt.89) and a few miles south of the town of St.Albans. Correct, Sam?

I'm planning on being there at 1:15.

That's correct. It's called the Georgia rest area since it's in the town of Georgia. Just south of St. Albans.

If there's going to be a whole bunch of us, we may have to find an alternate place. I was planning on stopping there (but not lunching) since I'll eat just before I leave my house. As an alternative there is a truck stop at the Swanton exit (take a right at the end of the ramp and it's right there) with tons of parking available. When it's a Tremblant weekend and I'm in that area I always see COMers there fueling up. Usually it makes me depressed since I'm not going but this year is different!

Sam,have you tried Bruces alternate route? It does have merits in regards to border crossings and potential Montreal congestion points. Seeing as I have never been either route,I am at the mercy of you vets.

I guess I have been fortunate. Never had much of a delay at the border. The rest of the route makes too many turns for me. I will GPS it to Mont-Tremblant.

As an ex road rally navigator in the UK, it's all in the maps for me! I just wish you had Ordnance Survey this side of the pond!
