Plotting members on a map

Post by Mick » Thu Dec 29, 2005 11:49 am

In light of the recent threads about new tracks and travel times, I thought it would be interesting plot out where our members are located.

There's actually an easy way to do this with a site called 'Frappr'. This site enables groups to quickly build membership location based maps.

Please add yourself to the map. It's painless and no registration is required. The only information you have to submit is a name and zip code. You can also upload a photo if you'd like.
http://www.frappr.com/comscc

I know the results will be biased toward the members who visit this forum. But maybe this will give us a little insight as to where the member base is concentrated and help us make (slightly) more informed decisions about track selection.

Thanks

Cool! I was thinking about doing the same. Thought there might be a way of incorporating Frappr into the forum, but there isn't.

Thanks Mike!

heh - Correct - I am only about 6.5 hrs (towing time) from Mosport. About 7 from Watkins Glen and 8 from Summit. My BIG trip now is NHIS 13.5 hours. Ah well - had to move for the job.

Location poll

I tried to join in on the poll, but I cannot put in a photo (Webtv). Site kept rejecting my info because of no 'optional' photo. PS, I joined COM in '73 not July 2003.

Hey Eldon,

You now live in my old neck of the wodds. I spent my elementary years living in Birmingham, a few houses away from Seaholm High School. It was a great area and I still miss it.

Ha-ha! Jamie's wins hands down for the best photo post.

I'd give second place to either Carl's 4 cylinders between 3 cars, or Scott's 4 wheel lockup into the bowl.
