Lime Rock for $2,000
We had better watch out for our competition! You can get two days at Lime Rock; one actually on the track for only $2,000! See the email I got below:
Hello SCDA Driving Enthusiasts,
As a valued Sports Car Driving Association, LLC customer, we would like to invite you to Lime Rock Park on selected dates in June and July to experience the freshly paved and greatly improved "Road Racing Center of the East!". The Club at Lime Rock Park, www.limerockclub.com, now offers an Associate Membership that cost $25k up front, instead of $100k, and this gets you 10 days out of a 60 day schedule. This is a great option and works out to a very reasonable per day cost when you factor in the Club Member benefits. Just some of the benefits that an Associate Club Member are entitled to include: scheduling a track day the day before an event, changing it for no cost in the event of inclement weather, and the flexibility of picking 10 days out of Club’s 60 day schedule, and VIP tickets to all of the spectator events.
The Club has extended the following invitation to SCDA participants: The Club at Lime Rock Park is offering a Two Day Special for SCDA driving enthusiasts seriously interested in becoming members of the Club at Lime Rock Park.
Here is the Two Day Special Deal, pick one of the following days: June 4th, 17th, 21st, or 24th, to come and run a full day car control clinic on the Autocross and Skid Pad. This is a great way to explore the limits of vehicle dynamics without the risk of damaging your car. For those that have not been on a wet Skid Pad, this exercise will not only showcase oversteer and understeer situations; driving on the Skid Pad is an absolute blast! For your second day come back on one of the following days: July 18th, 19th or 25th, 26th and you get to run on the newly paved Lime Rock Park.
Skip Barber himself will address the group with details of his plans for the Club at Lime Rock Park including taking questions regarding his planned further improvements for Lime Rock Park.
You can be one of the first drivers to run Classic Lime Rock and to try out the new alternative course configurations!
The Guest Fee is $2k for both days and includes use of a Spec Miata, one on one instruction, and lunch in the Clubhouse. It is important to note that if you decide to buy a membership, the Club will credit the $2k towards either the Associate ($25k) or Full Membership. Being a Member of the Club at Lime Rock Park is a very exclusive way of being part of the next 50 years at Lime Rock Park and helping to insure it does not go the way of Bridgehampton!
There is very limited seating for these exciting Club Member days so if you plan to join us at Lime Rock Park please RSVP to both myself ianuprout@aol.com and Stephan Condodemetraky, President Club Member Sales, via email at scondo@limerockclub.com or via telephone at (603) 434-8218, and please indicate which specific date in June and which specific date in July works for your schedule!
I thank you for your time and look forward to seeing you at the Club at Lime Rock Park!

thats my impression anyhow

need parts for your trailer, welding repairs/fabrication (sorry cant do aluminum), tires mounted and balanced, feel free to email/pm me. i am located a little west of nashua. ted
Ian's father, Bill Prout was Skip's chief intructor for many years. The Prouts and Skip are pretty tight. Why do you think that SCDA can get whole days at LRP and no one else can.nhsilversti wrote:i got that e-mail too. it almost sounds like SCDA has sold themselves out to the limerock thing.

When Patroon was at LRP in May --there were 2 Spec Miatas, a Ford GT ( he did not make it a full lap before he stuffed it) couple of Porsches, a Sports racer of some type and a few other cars I do not recall.
"The Club" used some caution tape to section off part of the paddock for their members. Many of them brought friends who were not your normal track day types to watch them drive.
"The club" is aimed at the person who does not want to think ahead about scheduling track days--and work at getting accepted. They want to arrive and drive and be catered to. --And I guess those folks are willing to pay for the priveledge.
It did make for a relaxing day --with 1 hr breaks in between Patroons run groups. Although we did tell the pit in guy we were not going to be helping "grid" all the club cars during our off time (not sure why he needed it --there were only 3-5 cars on track at once during the "club"sessions. )
The way I look at it is --the club members are paying for the rest of us to get a better LRP --I am still not happy with the politics of LRP--but it is what it is.

So it was a Ford GT that ate it in the downhill? I only heard the tires, and didn't see the aftermath. I was the green Miata that almost became part of a Boxster/guardrail sandwich after she lifted at the apex there and started doing pirouettes in front of me. First time ever off track for me, voluntarily.
Looking forward to the Glen in 2 weeks I think Harry and Bill(?) are going to be working with me again.

Hey Cy--I did not make the connection on the forums. Yup WGI in less than 2 weeks.CP wrote:So it was a Ford GT that ate it in the downhill? I only heard the tires, and didn't see the aftermath. No the car in the downhill was the Rabbit from Maine. Dropped coolant from west bend into the downhill and then rolled a couple of times. 1st time driving at the track for the poor guy.
Sorry--I know what car you were talking about now. I remember both of you at the bottom of the downhill when I came through. Harry said you handled it well.
The GT was in "The Club" at LRP session. One of the people associated with "The Club" made a statement --"this is the kind of people I have to work with"--meaning the GT guy who went out --no one in the car with him and stuffed it before the 1st lap was complete.
Yea --I want to be on track with those guys........

Absolutely! In addition to cash, we also accept Lotary-7's as damage deposit.brucesallen wrote:Can I stuff it?WillM wrote:Wow. If that is a bargain, then I'll be happy to offer a sorted ITA Miata for a 2-day COM event for $2,000.
(I'm sure even the LRP "club" cars have a you-stuff-it, you-buy-it clause. )
