New "Four Wheel Drift"

Post by brucesallen » Thu May 22, 2008 2:45 pm

At last night's Board meeting I volunteered to be the editor for the rebirth of the club newsletter, "The Four Wheel Drift". This "Drift" will be paperless and will consist of an email to members with some content and links to some larger content like photos and videos.

Some of the things that used to be in the former hard copy Drift when I was the editor a number of years ago that are currently posted on the COMSCC We site including:
Time Trial Results
Point standings.
So we don't need these things in the Drift any more.

Some of the things that the old Drift had that we lost and will be resurrected include:
Event (on track and social) photos
Event reports
Financial reports
Board meeting minutes
Reports by Chiefs of Specialties and officers
Articles and commentary by members

I expect the first Drift to be out after Calabogie. SO, anyone present at that event please email me photos. Track, pits, social and especially the group trophy winner's shot after the time trial. Anyone that has photos from the Glen event, also send them.

Bruce:
Great idea and thank you for volunteering!
I think also we can add a few comments from the "floor", namely:
Chief, Classroom and overall Instructors, Operations Chair, Students comments, class winners for each event. No need to be all of them but enough to get a good picture of the experience from each event.

I agree with you Bruce. All of those involved in the running of the show should write a short blurb about how things went/or didn't went. By sharing our thoughts, the membership gets a bigger picture of the club operations. That would promote interest and encourage people to step up and volunteer, brngs the membership closer when more than the "dirty dozen" try to run the show.
