Squealing Hawk HP Plus

Post by mtc13 » Wed May 14, 2008 6:56 pm

Does anyone have experience with the Hawk HP + pads? I found them so abnoxiously squealy (at LRP last year) that I can't see using them at Calabogie.
I called Hawk today to ask if maybe I had caused the problem myself (during break in - long story), but the tech said probably not, they are just loud pads.
I might do a re-break in on fresh rotors, but if anyone else has found them to be really annoying, maybe I won't bother.
Thanks!

HPs

I've run both a Mustang Cobra and a Miata. In both cases I had Hawk blues up front and Hawk HPs out back. Given in both situations most of the braking is up front I heard no complaints from the HPs..

HP+ are squeky. I was not able to do anything about it either. I think folks here including myself lean toward changing pads before the track and after, i.e. OEM - Blues - OEM

I've been using them for daily driving and 4 events a NHIS and don't have any squeeking problems. They throw a ton of dust, though.
