Trailer Winch $69

Post by jrottn » Fri May 02, 2008 1:09 pm

Since the car is still @ 0.0 h.p. needed a winch for my trailer
Thought this was a good deal
3000 lb electric (12v) winch with remote for $69
I found it at the Harbor Freight website (search winch under key words)

I was pretty fast at the Glen - that is, when you guys were pushing me!

Scott has bought me two different winchs to mount on the tow dolly - just haven't taken the time to do it.

Looks like it might be time to do it.

winch

I have a portable winch that is supposed to be good for 6000#'s rolling and 2000 #'s pulling that I thought would get my car on the trailer no problem. Well it does get it on the trailer but I usually need someone to give the car a little push to help it up the ramps. Check the specs to make sure the weight limit is for pulling (usually the lowest rating) and if you aren't using that often, giving it a little help isn't a big deal. I had a hard tie finding anything decent that was inexpensive. They have no in between pricing, either under $100 or over $300. Good Luck.

I bought one. Had the plate installed in my trailer and it's removable because it's not designed to be "outdoors" all the time.
Ted installed it when I upgraded the trailer. nice work, I'll send pictures soon. Some COM members saw it at WGI.

I just bought a portable Master Lock winch for $69 that pulls 2000# although slowly. The draw is low enough that I run it off my little formula car jumper battery although it comes with a power cord and battery clips long enough to reach the truck battery.
