COM... Corvettes of Massachusetts..never would have guessed
I was reading the clubs history.Quite enlightening. I liked this passage;
"COM President Peter Consiglio wins the SCCA A Production national title at the Runoffs, held at Riverside, CA. He won driving a 427 Cobra which miffed Chevrolet sufficiently that COM was dropped from their list of official Corvette clubs."
hehehe... Good reading.
Why does the history date line stop at 2001?

The Subarus invaded and it got boring?
I remember when a Subie was lucky to make it to 80k without self destructing.(the wonderful 70's)
I had a thing for XT coupes,and have owned hundreds of cars but never a Subaru.
Usually competition makes one try harder and dig deeper(into ones pockets)
They are amazingly fast cars,but I just can't seem to lust for one.

I wouldn't care if every car in COM was a Subie as long as they let me out on the track with them (<---me pointing by)
Granted,I'm a newcomer,but it seems to me the foundation of this club is about getting out on a real race track with your whatever car and testing ones own skills.
I sure wish I had learned about the existence of clubs like this years ago.
Well, never too late I always say I'm looking foreward to this year!

To tie in Will's comment as well - I wish I had known about such things before as well. When I talk to people about COM, most of them are like 'WOW - I can drive my car on a race track?!' Seems there needs to be a better way to get the word out - and that may involve some flexibility around the rules for the 1st day driving school (regarding car classification/level of safety equipment).
This has all been talked about before.....
