Track days and weather considerations
If a track is closed due to weather,do you get a refund or credit toward another date?
Or is it chalked up to experience?
Regarding weather; are events held in moderate rain,or is the track closed for any standing water?
I'm sure they close for snow but how about real cold temps?(<30)
Thanks.

Re: Track days and weather considerations
unfortunately, it happened last year because of snow on the track at nhis... yes, you are given to opportunity to get a refund or a credit which can be used for future events.breakaway500 wrote:If a track is closed due to weather,do you get a refund or credit toward another date?

Some of us LOVE rain!breakaway500 wrote:Whast is the track policy on rain?Is pouring rain a shut down?
I can also list some subie drivers who PRAY for it too!
As long as the track is not flooded it think it's a go.
As my friend Senna (yes, the late Ayrton Senna) would always tell me when racing in the rain: finesse, finesse, finesse.

Worry not convoy commander we shall give you RAIN!chaos4NH wrote:But, lest yee gentlemen forget, There has not been a rainy time trial in the 2+ years I have run with COM. I am hoping to extend that record, especially now that I have to be out there directing traffic!

John and Will: I think this was the most beautiful rendition on the Italian marque. Nice going!

Ah, yes, 4 or five (or 7) years ago, in my Formula Ford, in a time trial in the heavy rain, a lap warm up (almost) to see the track and then full throttle out of turn 13 toward the front straight and then I find out that that last part of the track I did not traverse has 5 inches or rain in the gully of the transition onto the NASCAR front straight. And since the car had two inches of clearance and a flat bottom a wave formed, crested over the nose and landed right in my lap (no windshield). Simulataneously the car did a 360 and came out pointing down the straight on the dry at the other side of the lake. double clutch to first. Spin and win the class. Fortunately today we time individual laps rather than the sum of the laps so you can have a look see on the first lap.
But cold: I cannot recall ever running in temperatures below zero but we have run with snow at the edge of the track. Of course, with no windshield and with your hands in the 130 mph 15 deg. breeze you will wish you bought the more expensive two layer gloves.
