I have been reading the rulebook and came across the novice stripe requirements. I am not sure where I would place the three novice stripes on my car as it does not have any 1/4 panels or a trunk. The back of the car is pretty much a tubular frame with an exhaust system and the wheels are open .
How long and wide are the stripe requirements?
Would black tape (on grey tubes) suffice wrapped around the frame tubing?
Thanks for the help.

Even electrical tape would work. How about on the back of your helmet. It's a little unorthodox, but so is the car. Alternatively a small piece a flat aluminum secured to the rear tubular structure with either hose clamps or sturdy zip ties might work. As the school day goes along, everyone in your run-group will figure out what you and your car are all about- with or without stripes.
In regards to your classification post, I don't see much of a difference between the Atom and Bruce's Viking that he terrorized SPA with for a while. Seems like a SPB car to me. I think the windshield rule was more for replacement of stock glass with something lighter and smaller- but that one is open to debate.

3/4 - 1" painter's (blue) masking tape will work great, be easy to remove, and will not muck up your paint. Put 3 slightly diagonal (just off of vertical) strips about 1" apart.
Places on your car where it would be visible:
Bottom end of rear fenders
Back side of intake scoop
Some where along one of the rear horizontal frame tubes.
Use 2 of these locations. The stripes do not need to be excessively long: 4 - 6" should be plenty. Trust me, people should pick up on them quickly.
The rookie stripes are a courtesy to the drivers around you, and add up to a safety item as well. Everybody wins! :thumbleft:

Stripes on the helmet won't work,as you cannot see the rear of the helmet while seated.
No rear fenders. Air scoop has checkers on it and the stripes will not really show up no matter what color they are.
There is a cover over the engine that faces 45 degrees to the rear and I think white on the black will show up nice.
Thanks for your help!
