What is your take on a 1998 BMW 328?

Not for me!
A friend of mine is planning on buying a daily driver that has some class and found a nice 1998 BMW 328i Automatic with 89K miles.
Anything he should be concerned about? Price range of $8,999 OK?
Comments welcomed!

Parts to check, assuming the car is totally stock:

Rear shock mounts
Area of front side skirts for rust
rear trailing arm bushings
front control arms/ball joints/control arm bushings

If all of those seem to be in decent shape the price sounds reasonable. If the car is in very good shape otherwise, and your friend knows that they will need to be addressed, it will probably be fine as well.

Thank you Kevin!
He also has a friend who used to work for BWM (those guys who trade cars every 3 years and travel to Germnay to get a new BMW, tough job eh?) and said the 99 model 328 are much better than 98 series.
In any case, he put an offer on the car and we'll wait tomorrow on whether it's a go or not.
Thanks again for the input.
